Organized by the Faculty of Industrial Design and Business Management of the „Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University from Iasi, Romania, on 20 November 2025 in an online format, the International Symposium “Technical Textiles – Present and Future” (TTPF 2025) is a scientific event that has become a tradition in the field of textiles since 2009.
Reaching the ninth edition now, the TTPF2025 Symposium has become a scientific forum in the field of technical textiles. It supports interdisciplinary research areas and provides a real opportunity for participants to share the latest findings and discuss perspectives on the sustainability challenges facing our field of interest.
Over the years and from edition to edition, the symposium has brought together leading researchers, textile experts from industry, teachers from academia and professional training to share their achievements and best practices in the field of technical textiles with relevant stakeholders from the national and international scientific field, including undergraduate and postgraduate students as future professionals.
The topics of TTPF2025 will focus on the latest scientific advances in the field of technical textiles, but also on companies’ needs for innovative solutions to environmental and sustainability issues in the field of technical textiles, as follows: Technical Textiles for Agrotech, Buildtech and Geotech Applications; Technical Textiles for Clothtech and Hometech Applications; Technical Textiles for Indutech and Mobiltech Applications; Functional and Smart Textiles for Meditech, Protech and Sportech Applications; Technical Textiles for Oekotech and Packtech Applications; Technical Textiles and Sustainability; Textile Education and Training for the Technical Textiles Field; Management and Entrepreneurship.
The previous last edition of the International Symposium „Technical Textiles – Present and Future”, TTPF 2023 edition, can be described with the following statistics:
-102 participants from 16 countries attended the symposium online, including 14 prominent figures from academia and research in TCLF: 1 guest of honour (from Albania), 5 outstanding keynote speakers, experts from research, academic education and TCLF industry (from the USA, Italy, India, Sweden and the Czech Republic), 2 plenary chairs (from Germany and Romania) and 6 session chairs (from Northern Ireland, Slovenia, Belgium, Portugal and Romania).
-40 reviewers from 12 countries were involved in the review process.
-The published open access volume contains 40 scientific contributions by 146 authors from 8 countries, including 39 authors from 8 countries other than Romania (Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Northern Ireland, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the Republic of Moldova).
